Poor Republican

I wish I didn’t have to do this, but some of our liberal “friends” either can’t be bothered to read the rules or can’t be bothered to follow them.  It’s sad that liberals aren’t raised properly or just refuse to learn, so I take it upon myself to educate them on the basics of civil discourse.

The Rules

Ok, those aren’t actually MY rules.

These rules are mine, and they are fairly simple, although I understand these may be confusing for liberals.

1.  Make a point that is related to the post.

Do I really have to explain this?

2.  Make a point intelligently.

Or this?

3.  Name calling and accusations without any evidence do not constitute making a point intelligently.

4.  I will edit comments to add my reply; I will NOT edit comments because I don’t like what you say. 

That means you can be liberal here as long as you otherwise follow the rules.  You know, like liberals always say about illegal aliens who “otherwise follow the rules?”

5.  Comments that disagree with me WILL be published, however, if you violate the rules I will probably tell you so and summarily delete all following comments if they also violate the rules. 

I do warn you; if you don’t listen don’t send another post crying about it.

6.   Profanity will not be published, ever.  I cuss more than I should, but I will not do it here.  You won’t either. 

Ever.  I don’t care if you don’t like it or you think that makes me a (insert childish insult here).

7.   Spelling and grammar count!  I can’t stand illiterate rants.  If your post is really bad, I may correct your spelling and grammar just for fun.  If I make a mistake, and I WILL, feel free to point it out.  I will publish your correction and fix my mistake. 

I know, you hate having to actually use proper English just like you hate any other standard you can’t/won’t comply with, but if you send me gibberish, it’s over for you.

8.  Party line jokes are ok if they’re not dirty or hurtful….and if I find them funny.  Good luck on that one!  If you make a good crack at Republicans, I WILL publish it.

Believe me, I crack on Bush all the time.

9.  The rules apply to everyone..including me.  I want an intellectually, logically and factually based blog.  I’ll try not to step out of that.  If I do, I’m sure someone will point to my own rules and call me out.  Please do.  I’ll fix it.

I get passionate and go off the deep end, verbally speaking, just as much as the next guy.

10. Threats, real or implied, will not be tolerated.  Instant ban.

If you do this, you are not only incapable of intelligent discourse, you are also not very smart.  Making threats is illegal, but more than that…do you know who’s on the other end of the connection?  I don’t, and neither do you.  Threatening someone whose capabilities and mental state you do not know is just plain dumb.

I may add more if I feel the need, but for now….let’s keep it a clean fight as much as we can.

I know this is difficult if you’re a liberal, but you have to stay within the lines if you want to post here.  You see, I am a CONSERVATIVE.  That means I have standards, and unlike yours, they are not “living documents.”
